Hand Carved Free Form Wooden Fidget / Massage Aid

Hand carved out of a piece of the several-hundred-year-old wood planks we have taken down from the loft conversion in the ancient house we are renovating in the Portuguese mountains.  

Most likely chestnut, the wood has plenty of character of its own with beetle damage and deeply ingrained smoke, I chose this piece to carve into a textured fidget toy with one side smooth and the other carved into round humps and scoops to delight both eyes and fingers.

It fits easily into the palm of the hand as a massage aid, or flits and spins between your fingers as a fidget toy.

Pictured with and without flash to showcase both color and pattern of the wood grain, as well as the time dealt damage that just adds an extra layer of special to an already unrepeatable piece of art.

Created from very VERY old wood, this all natural fidget toy is a graceful way to relax body and spirit without any guilt from the plastics most spinners consist of.

Sanded to a satin finish with plenty of time and four consecutively finer grit sand papers, then finally oiled with mineral oil to bring life to the wood, the entire thing fits easily in your hand and will give many years of service and enjoyment and is utterly unique.
