Hardwood Soot - Pure Soot - 75 g

€10.00

We burn hardwood from the managed woodlands around us to heat our house, mostly chestnut with a bit of oak and eucalyptus.

Last winter our stove pipe began to leak, which cooled the smoke and produced a load of soot which I gathered when I cleaned the system out.

Soot can be used for ink making, dying, and various other ancient crafts, including natural pigment paints.

The final picture shows our current range of all natural ancient-crafts materials, soot, onion skins, and oak galls.

We will be harvesting the Common Madder soon but it has to dry all the way before we can ship it so won’t be ready until Spring at the earliest.
